So basically I want to record guitar and vocals at the same time onto two different tracks, the way my friend does with his mbox and pro tools. The thing is, I use garageband. What's the cheapest two-channel interface (usb or firewire) that will work with garageband? It also has to have XLR on both channels. Thanks!

I think most interfaces work with a mac and on garage band...but dont quote me on that.

Most any USB interface will do the trick, just get one with two XLR inputs and phantom power if needed (condenser mics).

Tweaks guide, "Soundcards" is the section on interfaces, look though that
(linked in my sig).

I suggest some of the Tascam interfaces. They are fair for the price and feature quote a bit. These also support Mac OS X

moody's pretty much covered it.

If you need to know, most products will say right on the box whether or not it works on a mac.

you can always ask the sales associate as well..
