I'm looking for a head and cab amp and i'm stuck between choosing Marshall JCM2000 tsl60 and dsl100 and JCM900..any opinion on which would sound better if my song choices are like guns and roses and mostly classic rock..? Which would produce a better classic rock sound..? Using GB LP btw..

People suggesting to JCM2000s need to get their heads fixed.

If it's classic rock you're after, Id take an 800 over a 900 also.
New tracks on my profile! Please check them out and see what you think!

Because I like the same music as you and was making the same choice 6 months ago I'm going to say the JCM900. I'll speak from before I had it modded aswell. I got a fantastic GnR and/or ACDC sound from it. The clean channel is in my opinion the best clean channel Marshall has produced, people say the dirty channel has too much gain for classic rock, that is what the damn gain knob is for. The only reason I got it modded to take EL34s is to give it a little bit extra balls and the tech gave me some circuit board upgrades aswell just for the sake of it lol, since that it has become even better, still with the wonderful warm clean channel and killer distortion. It's a very flexible amp as personally I've played blues, punk rock, classic rock, metal and just about everything inbetween on it, all of which sounded great (with the right EQing of course). In my opinion the choice is between the 900 or the 800. I'd say though that is cleans are important you should get the 900, but if cleans aren't as important, get the 800.

I hope this helps more than just "800 > DSL > TSL > 900".

Yea it did..thanks..so basically the tsl is outta my choices..so..what kind of music does the dsl and tsl actually exist to play for..? Or are they basically a rip off the JCM800 and 900's..? But i saw a video of rob math and he said that dsl contains plexi tones as well as 800's but with more flexibility..is it really..?

Don't take the peoples words on the TSL. I own it and I love it. I get great tones from it.

Actually I use several forums and this is the only forum that has something against the TSL and JCM2000 series.
