After bothering you guys with threads I decided to get this guitar which is discontinues after all.

So far the feel is awesome, however, the pickups are awesome for metal, but incredibly inversatil.

The neck is the first one. Its super comfortable. The actions is super low, and the neck is really smooth.

Yeah same here. Its damn elegant, and neckthrough. I wish this one was necktrough. I looked all over to find the same paintjob in neckthrough, and fixed bridge but they only make it with bolt on and the damn Edge III

As for the body, its made of Basswood. The woodwork is quality, but I always get that in RGs. I still prefer the mahogany RGT, but I needed something lighter. Now that i think about it I should have gotten a yamaha RGX A2. Those are super light and sustain like crazy.

Its a 320. I think the only difference between the two is pickups. I hope I was right about that. I am gonna change the pickups anyways.

Do you guys think putting a Lo pro edge on it would be worth it? Or an edge pro? or an OFR?

OFR since the Edge III's routing is very similar to an OFR, so minimal routing if any is rquired.

Very impressive. I'm having trouble reading the pickups though. They look like seymour duncans but my eyesight is terrible.

I don't much like the paintjob myself but the guitar itself is pretty nice; happy NGD

Actually, IIRC, they also do the same finish in Red. now THAT would be sweet.

rofl, great decision. [/sarcasm]

rather sexy guitar by the way. if it had an opening that couldn't potentially harm me, I would.......do things to it.

The easiest would be to go with the OFR. Edge IIIs have similar routing to them, so you don't need to make extra unnecessary routings. Even if it doesn't fit exactly, just a little sandpaper to the edges of the routing would do the trick.

You got an Edge III?

Oh dear.

Oh dear, oh dear.

Its not as bad as its made out to be. A lot of people are just jumping on the bandwagon. Its quite decent when set up properly. Not as good as an OFR or Edge Pro of course, but it does the job.

But the issue is not with the immediate usage it's the durability; OFRs and Edge Pros are made of much more durable materials so they last much longer and still hold tuning.

True, they tend to wear out after some time. But, you get what you pay for i guess.

Well I know hot to swap the Edge III for an OFR. I even wrote a tutorial for when i did the work on my RGT42. The tutorial is in my sig.

I however, would like an edge bridge a lot better.

It is that bad, I have one. The Edge III works for a few months, but after that it just sucks... guitar never manages to hold tuning, the system itself is crap, the arm is alwayscloose. The only way mine holds tune is if I don't use the trem (which I have no use for anyway) and leave off the locking nuts at the headstock. That seems to work.

But still, congrats on the new guitar!
