This is a simple solo I wrote. I don't know too much about scales, but I basically followed the rules. the recording is the solo + rhythm behind it.

I don't think how long I've been playing matters, because everyone is at a different rate and level for their time. However, I haven't been playing too long.

Anyway, I think it soudns really, really cool and it's the first real solo I've ever written. So if you could check it out, that'd be awesome and let me know what you think!

It's the top item on my music myspace: myspace.com/jessekolbmusic and on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivFY2diq5hg

Jesse

PS: It's not done. This is only a demo.

Sounds to me like one of those anthem-ish songs being played at assemblies and stuff. I thought it was pretty cool, although I think it'd sound better with an acoustic as rhythm guitar.

check out my band's song?

Also, I just wanted to say that I know it isn't to fast. It's short too. But for me, it's not about speed or length. It's about making it sound alive, and and beautiful. I don't care about super fast solos or shredding, for me its trying to make the guitar sound alive, and beautiful, and to make a solo that you can listen to, close your eyes, and just smile at the peak of it. To me, it's bout making the guitar/solo come alive - like a living thing, and make it beautiful. I gave this everything I had. I realize I sound stupid, but it's just how I feel. I always say, anyone can make a guitar scream; but it takes a real guitarist to make it cry.

it's ok for a fragment - I feel like it needs much more before it can be anything more than a bunch of notes that sound ok. It's not bad though, I'd just like to hear it in the context of a song. Keep adding to it or use it as the basis for a longer tune.

sounds good. thanks for the constructive crit

Dear god mate, that stuff is amazing. I listened over and over and ripped them al to my iPod.

Please, keep it up! I was in awe. It's some awesome stuff. I can't even crit it. I'm not good enough to crit your stuff. You're on a whole different level. I love your music. It sounds beautiful. Keep it up man!

I thought it was good, especially as it's an early attempt.

My one critisism would be the tone of the recordings - turn the gain down.

I liked the piece on the whole, i did think the gain was particurally high, which made it harder for me to see how it fit with the backing track. I liked that you wern't afraid to put some space in the solo, and focus on spesific notes as opposed to just putting long runs together. I'd love to see it in the context of a song.

That was a great crit, thx. I don't see that song on your profile anymore. "Hero" that is

However, I listened to the A minor solo and I loved it.
