hey all

I dunno if anyone has had this, but, when I first started playing I used to try and use my lil finger all the time, and I kept using it on lil riffs, but then one day it felt like it was locked up and it still does it sometimes, esp if I don't warm up. Clearly somethings damaged on it, just wanted to know if anyones had similiar problems and is there anything that can be done

cheers

how long have you been playing?
there are many possible explanations
1 you tired the hell out of it, let is rest and play da blues...
2 it is still too weak for more advanced stuff

well, I left it for awhile, didn't use it at all and now, I can use it alright now, just sometimes I can feel it do it again.

if your playing stading up, you probably need to raise your guitar by adjusting the strap. That seemed to work for me.

Hehe.

The little one on (of course) my fretting hand is screwed up.

It won't bend straight all the way out. And what's worse, is that the skin under where it arches is still really held down and in place and the bones moving originally didn't move it. So my reaches on my fretting hand are small.

if you have not used your pinkie and you have not been playing for very long then you will need to work its strength back up, but dont overdo it - take it slowly with some scales and try hammer ons and pull offs where you use your first finger and pinkie.

if it is just not strong enough to play, youre fine, but if it actually hurts when you are not playing, see a doctor.
