So I've learned how to mute and the extra noise coming out of my strings has reduced rapidly. However, when I play some songs (like Misirlou or Voodoo Child), I tend to still get a little ringing from the other strings. Is there any advanced muting techniques that you guys know of that I could use? Thanks.

I know this intense technique called practice! lol just play it slow so you don't make any ringing and slowly bring up the tempo. if you wanted to not do that's I'd have to see you playing to recommend anything

I DO try to mute with both hands, but it's kind of hard when I have to play with all of the fingers on my left hand and I have top play on the lower strings, you know?
I'll definitely try practicing it slower. It's just that even the songs I've known since I've begun playing have some stray notes ring in. I don't know.

I agree with nasadm....Start slow, chances are if you go slowly there won't be so much unwanted noise when you speed it up. It will be more efficient.
