Finally I got it, I love it so far. One think I don't like though, it's kinda muddy sounding. Anyone know how to fix it and got some Metallica/Iron Maiden sund suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Muddy?
Boost the mids if you've scooped them or cut them slightly if you've put them really high. Cutting down on the bass will also make it a bit clearer.

For the best tingle, use Original Source mint. That shit feels amazing on your balls.

Don't scoop your mids?

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Okay, I got the bass at 7 and mids at 3. I'll try bass at 4ish and mids at 5

Remember that diming the mids CAN make an amp muddy as well

Good thinking TS - those new settings should make it sound a bit better. Where's your treble at?

Also, does it have any more EQ settings like presence or resonance?

True enough, but at least it'll sound better than no mids

Scooped mids make me cry.

7. And no, only the usual bass middle treble.

Maybe worth investing in an EQ pedal? Just a suggestion.

Play a Cort ?

Play with V-Picks ?

^you think I could use the EQ on my ZoomG2 to mix it up a bit?

Ah ok.
Try playing with the treble also - on my 6505+ I have bass at 6, mids at 7 then the treble's way over at 4

TRY the Zoom's EQ - it might just make it sound worse as it's not true bypass, but definitely give it a go.

Well, I was thinking one more like this so that you can cut specific frequencies.

That Zoom pedal may work though- might as well give it a try. Remember to bypass the amp modelling if you can.

The Zoom screwed it up.

^I can't afford anything right now as the Randall took my last money. :P

I noticed that the Zoom has terrible bypass, or, well, with everything turned off, it still has a big effect on the tone. I don't mind it for delay or something, and the noise remover is nice for the lead channel of my amp, but for the clean channel, it sounds a LOT better with the Zoom bypassed.

Anyway, I'd say just keep tweaking the EQ. With some amps, it can take a while before you really get the best tones out of them.

I wonder if it could also depend on that this is my first all tube amp, and I'm not really used to the sound yet. What do you think?

Don't worry too much as it can take many hours fiddling with the EQ to find your preferred tone on a new amp.

What volume are you playing at? Remember the amp will sound better the louder you go!

You may also want to consider putting a hotter pick-up in the guitar to drive the amp more..,.

I think most Randall amps have very much bass, I have a RG75DG3 and the bass is sick!:P

I usually just have it on 1 or 2 to get the best sound.
