The strings vibrate, making the soundboard (the big flat top of the guitar) vibrate, which makes the sound resonate within the guitar, which makes the sound louder. And it comes out of the soundhole at the top of the guitar.

a know a lot of ovations are like that.
my guess is that there is a peizo under the strings or the bridge, or there is a pickup inside the body........not sure though.
it's also a video so it's not necessarily realistic (note how the guitar isn't plugged in)
