ive been workign on this for a few weeks and i finally finished painting today! i still need to clearcoat it and get a few more parts until i can get it completely finished but here it is all painted and everything.

the one thing im slightly disapointed with is how the pinstriped "H" came out but other than that i think its pretty good

Looks sweet. I know people say 'oh god not another one'
but i for one love em and love to see people making a good job of replicating them

good job

This just might be the picture, but it looks like you used different shades of red. Otherwise, it doesnt look too bad really.

thanks for all the good feedback everyone!

just kind of a broad question how much would it cost to have the OFR installed on this when i buy it because im kinda leaning on having a pro do it rather than chancing me ruining the guitar after ive gotten so far

to get a floyd on it, its gonan require routing, and its gonna cost probably a lot. you should try it your self + if u screw it up, u also help out the reliced look

If by "clean" you mean "get a finger right up in there and do a good bit of spelunking" then i guess "at any given opportunity" is my answer.

i got the neck at a local music store in my area. i think the guy said that one of their repair techs made it so its really nice. i think it was $140, and worth every penny from what i can see (and feel)

Look around the EVH forums (loads of modders there) and ask them about the reflectors, lookin' good so far.
You planning on beating it up some or keeping it clean?
#18

i plan on doing some relicing to it, once i get it into playing condition im going to throw some cigs in the headstock so i can get the burns there. ive got a couple techniques that ive been looking at on how im going to dirty up the fretboard and the back of the neck

im hopefully going to have a mid 80s floyd in the next couple of days, which would be amazing because its the exact same style floyd that eddie has on his

well, after about 2 months of delays due to lack of resources, i FINALLY finished it! the trem is an OFR, pickup is a dimarzio PAF Pro, and the quarter is a 1971 quarter. i still need to get the last of the reflectors and buy a pack of cigs so i can get the burns in the headstock

finished pics:

EDIT: yes, i painfully realized that i had installed the floyd crooked, but it was managable enough that just adjusting the intonation made it no problem at all

Wow, absolutely beautiful. After some relicing it should look just like the origenal.

EVH custom made the scratchplate on his guitar, so it didn't have pre-existing holes, unlike yours.
