First of all, I guess it would be helpful to state what I'm working with here.

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Special-II-Player-Pack?sku=518677 is my guitar.

And my amp is a Line 6 Spider III 75 http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/guitar_amplifiers/line_6/spider_iii_75/index.html

Stock pickups, I suppose.

Neal Schon is my absolute favorite guitarist of all time, and Journey is my favorite band. I've been longing to get a Neal Schon sound from my guitar/amp. I've checked the ultimate settings thread as well as various other places, with no results.

A few examples would be the solo from Don't Stop Believin, Lights, Ask The Lonely, When You Love A Woman.

Any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks.

Those gear won't help you get that "Neal Schon" sound, i say upgrade amp if you can then guitar later some pedals. Other than that i can't help you pull of the impossible with the legendary Line 6 spider III (Legendary as in, Legendary bad amp).

First, why is that amp so bad? Second, what amp would you suggest for a reasonable price?
