Hi all,

I'm in an awkward situation...

I'm about 5'11, weighing 125 pounds. I'm finishing up college - but one more problem before I apply to the Toronto Police force...I'm about 15-20 pounds underweight for my height...

I've tried eating a lot of junk food within the last few weeks, and I haven't gained any weight. I also really don't want to take any weight gainers or any of those drugs or something....

Anyone have any weight gaining tips?

Lift everyday, take protein, and lift in the morning, and EAT HEALTHY, BALANCED diets.

Junk food will make you gain weight, but it won't help you on the force.

calorie intake > energy expenditure

Also, for 5'11 you should be at about 160-170 or you are going to get pushed around.

eat nutrient supplements loaded w/ carbs and protein. Eat lots of eggs. Work out. Run. eat more eggs. Drink 2% milk. Eat peanut butter. More eggs. Work out. You get ti.

Im 5' 11'' and used to weigh 125 as well, but after that regimen, i now weigh close to 150 with VERY little water weight

you know how some ppl say "i could eat a horse"? why do you think there are so many fat ppl in the US? they eat junk food? ha! no! u remember that horse that broke its leg in the most recent kentucky derby? they had to kill it but what they didnt show you was that after they pulled it off the track the rider ate that bitch...in one bite too...so go find yourself a ****ing horse

Err, you're way more than 15-20 pounds underweight. Try 40.

Anyway, see your doctor and work it out from there.

i know for a lot of guys pop is a big weight gain. at least for my brother and i it is (so it may just be hereditary, i dunno). so drink a lot of pop, but watch your teeth hygiene too. rent a bunch of movies and spend all of summer in doors eating junk and doing nothing at all. then not only will you be fat, but also impotent and a nice shade of ghostly white. the chicks'll dig it too! ^_^

i have a similar body type. i'm skinny as a stick and no matter how much i eat, i don't gain weight.

this is how i gained a little weight over the past year: go to the gym. work out hard, probably 3 times a week, resting every other day (because muscles grow and repair when they rest). Immediately after working out, go make yourself or buy (i suggest making your own) protein shakes/smoothies. Add a couple scoops of powdered protein, throw in ice, milk, fruit, and add a little sugar, blend it all up and drink it.

i used to be 125 but over a couple months of workin out i gained about 15/20 pounds.

you just gotta be constant though

you need to eat at least 500 calories more daily, than what you would normally eat to gain 1 lb per week. Also, start working out and eat 1gm of protein for each pound that you weigh. So in your case, you need at least around 120gm of protein each day.

One of the ways wrestlers gain weight is by eating roughly every two hours. Nothing big, just something like a banana. But do it every two hours, and still take your breakfast, lunch and dinner at regular times. No, don't wake up to eat. You've eaten enough today

You could try eating blocks of lard. That'll get your weight in fairly quickly

im about 5'11/ 6ft and i was bordering between 8 3/4 stone and 9. best thing you can do is to work out like the other guy said. eating loads will not really help because like many of us out metablisms (poor spelling) are crazy mad lol so just eating but if you can eat as much as you can look for high protein foods =]

you will evetually fill out just when your older lol

Lift weights daily, alternating which areas you work. Once you can do 12-15 reps of a certain exercise, add more weight. If you want to build muscle mass, high weight+fewer reps is the way to go. Also eat a calorie-rich but healthy diet. Lots of fruit and vegetables and protein. Junk food=

Hey,stuck in the same situation as your in.

im bordering 6 feet and i weigh 52kg-53kg. i have a high metabolic rate. But i read somewhere that you should always keep your stomach full no matter what. NEVER let it get hungry. I'm starting it again because it takes a bunch of effort to keep your tummy full all the time.

Anyway, I'm trying to gain weight too. I'm about 5'8" and 52kg (i think that's about 120 lbs). So yes, I'm underweight.
