I am also a Gearbox user and have had for almost 10 months. It's awesome!

I also have the Metal Shop model pack, the Collector Classics model pack and the FX Junkie model pack.

If you want to hear how some of it sounds, listen to my covers on my profile.

If you have any queries regarding the model packs ask me, and if you want me to make samples of anything, just ask and I will do my best to make it.

Yeah I think it is worth the money, it's not very expensive. I bought the triple pack so it was all 3 for the price of 2 which is pretty good. I like the amps better in the Metal Pack for high gain than the standard ones.

i've considered getting gearbox for home recording purposes, but i think i'd prefer to use a Pod XT as a recording interface. is gearbox compatible with the pod XT/X3?
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

I believe that the Newest version of Gearbox (Gearbox 3.60) is compatible with the Pod X3's. I'm not so sure how it is "compatible" but my Line 6 monkey says that it is now "Compatible" with Pod X3's and Pod X3 Lives.

ah, i see. I ought to invest in a Pod X3 live at some point then, since i have a variax which i've just upgraded the firmware to be compatible with the X3s.

My Deanne the Arsonist Cover on my profile is using 2 of the metal pack amps, although they dont represent the quality of them that well because I used my crappy old Squire as it was in drop C lol.

So if you want me to make one with my Ibanez, tell me what amp(s) you would like to hear and I'll try and make a sample.

Hey check my profile, I attempted to get the tone but it probally sounds more like a modern Metallica tone, I dunno lol. I based it around some of Hetfield's EQ settings I found on the net. The playing is sloppy lol I made some generic riff up on the spot. In case you are wondering, I used the Triple Rectifier model.

I use my x3 whit gearbox

Im gonna upload my 4 main tones.

I got a toneport/gearbox last week, so far pretty impressed with it.

Yet to try much recording with it or anything, that's still to come.

I don't know how faithful the models are to the originals but they sound good to me.

I combined a database of the Gearbox Amp Models with the amps they're supposed to model, and the "Ultimate Newer Amp settings thread" To create Many tone's of different artists. All ya gotta know is what kind of amp that guitarist uses, and you get an instant treasure trove of tones. Anyone know the best way tor record with Gearbox?

if you sit in front of a computer mostly and play guitar at home practicing, its awesome ! i never use my amp or board in the house now cause all the tone i need for practice is there. my favourite metal setting is the Bogner Uberschall with a TS for some colouring. great recording utility as well, very simple, straight to the point. Too many jump on the bandwagon and diss Line 6, well this is a great product !!!

Nah, most people don't diss the line 6 company, but rather their spider series of amps.

I have played a number of very nice line 6 products.

If you click on the click on the small downwards triangle button next to the name of the tone, click Save as... and you can save the tone.

Go on to Xtra Tones and theres one called Acoustic Guitar on there.

Hey Does Anyone own any of the model packs you have to pay for (Power Pack, Metal shop Fx junkie etc)? Because i really want more amp models to play with but theres no way i'm gonna pay like £60 for them.. Surely you can just find the new amp model folders and simply send them to me.. Please Help With my lack of money..
Cheers

I have gearbox and guitar port.

I find that the tone of gearbox is lacking, and not pleasant, and I no longer use it.
I use Guitar Rig 3 now, and it's much better, but I still use guitarport to plug my guitar in.

I just bought a Line 6 GearBox Plug-In Gold Bundle, and I feel like an idiot, cause I have no idea how it works. Help please. ^^

I installed all the software, did the compatibility check, updated all the software, then finally got to plug my guitar in. Then I realized that sound doesn't come out of the computer.

So, what do I do? I'll worry about recording later, I just want to be able to hear what I'm playing.

What recording software are you using?

The Gearbox Plugin and Gearbox software aren't the same thing.
