alnico 2 and 5 are both magnets. i think alnico classic humbuckers use alnico 2s.

"Alnico classic" is used to describe cheap pickups when the manufacturers just put anything in so don't want to be specific, could be Alnico 2, 3, 4, 5 or 8.

It just sounds a bit better than "Alnico random"

Which brand? Epiphone's "Alnico Classic" pickups have Alnico V magnets.
