No more good bands

ololololololol.

Fail. They are many GREAT bands that have formed since the Beatles.

Almost every band I'd want to see live is alive. Maiden (seen them once, can't wait for the second time!), Judas Priest (going in August), Streetlight Manifesto, Megadeth, The Aquabats, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Annihilator, etc...

Find some new music.

Indeed. There's some good stuff out there. You just have to look for it.

I'd like to see Chopin live.

I would love to see Maynard Ferguson in concert
Bo Diddley
The Beatles
The Doors
Sublime
Dizzie Gillespie
Ozzy/Quiet Riot w/ Rhoads
Jimi Hendrix

I like music that isn't 40 years old, so most of my guys are alive. The exception is Freddie Mercury.

i reallyy want to see Tom Waits live, he's awsome

I would like to see a bunch of dead people too. but the bottom line is, you can't- until you go to Heaven. I wanna hear Purple Haze behind those Pearly Gates...

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

Yes, he's great.

If they were alive you probably wouldn't want to see them so bad. It's jealousy, wanting what we cannot have.

I feel the same way about my idols also..Jon Nodtveidt, Chuck Schuldiner and Dimebag Darrell... it sucks..

Because we all know that the only bands that exist are the ones you see on MTV and hear on the radio on a daily basis.

what about Bob Marley? that would be the greatest thing of my life to see him live just because he has great music and had even greater beliefs
I'm Steve

Yeah, I get your feeling man. Good music taste
Try checking out other bands though, there are still some great live performers.
Also, btw, The Doors are still going nowadays without Jim Morrison (although if he was actually playing it would be so much better) under the name "Riders on the Storm".
I saw them live once, it felt like I was actually at a '60s gig

as rare as this is for old-spammy-me,

on topic:
Terry Kath. I really wish I could go back in time to see him with the original line-up of Chicago.
His death was tragic stupidity.
