I'm looking for a new guitar. I primarily play metal, but I want it to be versatile enough to handle Jazz, and some prog/rock.

I was thinking Jackson, as I dont really like Ibanez all that much, but I'm open to suggestions.

I'd say, try to keep it under $1500 though.

Edit! Forgot to say, I want the neck to be thinner than the PRS SE that I own, but not Wizard thin. And I'd like it to have good upper fret access.

Also, I was looking at Carvin. Would they be a good choice? I know they're quality instruments, but I dont know if they're good for Melodic death/melodic metal.

I know they could handle the more proggy/jazzy stuff though.

I'd say go for a Jackson SL3. They are amazing guitars, and plenty versatile.
Heads will roll. Throats will be slit. Blood will flow like springs of water.

I think maybe you should try out the UG searchbar. I hear great things about it. Its practicly free too
