stupid question but how do you use a metronome?

use this as an example

SWEEP

E-------------------12-15-15-12------------------
B---------------13-----------------13--------------o
G-----------12-------------------------12-----------
D------14----------------------------------14-------
A--15------------------------------------------15--o
E------------------------------------------------------

i usually just play at the beep and when i would get to 15(the last note), the second beep would sound and id go through it backwards again ending on the root note and the beep. any help? how do you know what to do?

triplets are 3 notes per beat right?
Yes.

and the rhythm is the BPM?
No. The rhythm is the timing of when notes are played. Rhythm is stuff like "16th note" and "8th note rest." The BPM is the tempo.

sorry, i have like ADHD and i never understand anything i read, haha. so i'm probably asking a lot of questions.

But the notes don't have any rests or anything, they are all just constant .i just don't understand. you could play 16th notes at a really slow tempo or 8th notes at moderate tempo.

it's at 8:05
