Ok does anyone know why they seem to have taken down the SZ series off the Ibanez website? They still have the guitars in music stores and on internet stores, but it seems to have been removed from the website, anyone have any ideas on this??

I HOPE they're not removing it, I was kinda fond of that range...

Well right now there are only 2 SZR guitars on the site, does this mean they're outdating the old SZ ones?

What's the difference between SZ and SZR anyways?

yes, they are outdating the SZ series but you can still find some on MF.
from what i've seen, they differ in finish, inlay and pickups.

EDIT: they also differ in top wood.

EDIT 2: headstock is different. SZs have Duncan Designed pickups while SZRs have Ibanez Neo Z pickups. correct me if i am wrong though.

Is the SZR the one with the stars? I like the inlay but the star on the body doesn't need to belong there. It looks out of place. Hmm... looks like I might need to snatch up another SZ or two in the next couple years since I won't be able to buy another. I LOVE MY SZ!!!

that's an SZ. SZRs have a pointier 3x3 headstock, like that of an old iceman.

Ooh... just went to the website!

I am digging the SZR720. I would like it with some silver hardware more

Also, if you look at the close up pics on the website, the pickup surrounds are wood. I think I am in love!

How exactly is that... you must not have looked at them because the SZR's look nearly identical. The 520 has no inlays (well... little dots) and the 720 has a Jem-like inlay. Take a look... they are pretty cool!

Everything about the SZR series has been covered, except the fact that they're made in China (the SZs were made in Korea).

I think there is a difference. It looks like they shortened the horns, and the body looks longer.I wish they kept the SZ body on the SZR and it'll be awesome with the inlays and maple top.
