so your at a party, theres an acoustic in the corner, what songs do you play?

i really need more party songs, only ones i really play are:
wonderwall, dakota, tears in heaven, stairway to heaven,
just the way im feeling - feeder
karma police - radiohead

just songs that everyone sings along to and that EVERYONE knows, ya know?

any ideas, or anything that youv used in the past?

Last Train Home = win at a party. If the acoustic has a cutaway body that is.

no i'm sorry cheese weasel but, breakfast at tiffany's - Deep Blue Something = win at a party.

edit: oh oh, i just thought of some more: Pink Floyd - Mother and Pink Floyd - Wish you were here, and AC/DC - just about any of their songs go down well acoustically, so long as you don't do the solos (wouldn't sound great on an acoustic ).

Green Day stuff goes down well, because people know it, as does anything by Oasis, Razorlight (if there's a capo lying around), Hotel California, Beatles stuff done acoustically...all of that really depends on you being able to sing yourself to get people going, though. If you can sing, just think of songs that put a smile on people's faces, and learn them.

Ted: [Whispering to Bill] Your stepmom is cute.
Bill: Shut up, Ted.
Ted: Remember when she was a senior and we were freshmen?
Bill: Shut up, Ted!

No stairway... DENIED!! Sorry, I had to.

Anyway, the Green Day suggestion is a good idea. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) is a great example. Also, some of Tesla's acoustic stuff like Signs is good. Even some of their electric stuff. Don't De-Rock Me sounds good acoustic, as long as you don't play the solo. Most of Pink Floyd works too. Wish You Were Here has always impressed people in my experiences.

Over the Hills and Far Away - Led Zeppelin
Stars - Switchfoot

Those have worked very well for me in the past.

Hmm acoustics and vocals I'm assuming? Try:

You're Beautiful-James Blunt
Hey There Deliah-Plain White Ts
Like a Rolling Stone-Bob Dylan
Blitzkrieg Bop-Ramones
I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing-Aerosmith
Under The Bridge-Red Hot Chili Peppers
Ring of Fire-Johnny Cash
Come As You Are-Nirvana
Hey Jude-Beatles
Come What May-Moulin Rouge Soundtrack (some of the girls should know this )

WTF? You actually sing like that pansy ass bitch?

^

A) I never said that I sing like that.

B) It's a very popular song that people could sing along to and as such would go over well.

C) Just because you don't like James Blunt's music that's no reason to be disrespectful.

I'm so glad you decided to approach my suggestion in a mature and open minded manner.
