I'm wondering about recording directly into a preamp with THIS PEDAL HERE .

I've heard when you record directly into the mixer the end result will not be as good as if I mic my tube amp, and the recording will lack a sort of "air" or reverb type of quality.

I'm just wondering if this is true as my parents don't let me use my amp at my house so I'm looking at alternatives to continue to record music this summer.

Any help, advice on knowledge shed on the topic would be great

true direct in does tend to sound a little flat when recorded. However this can be altered with a bit of EQ and reverb added on later in an editing program, in my experience (albiet limited) a bit of EQ and reverb can make the sound A LOT better.
My Gear:
Ashton AG131
Ashton GA10 (amp)
Marshall MG250DX (gasp, i know...)
Ibanez S470DXQM
EH Metal Muff
