I say go for it. I mean, what is the worst that could happen? Death? Ha! Laugh in its face, or at least scoff.

So you're going to walk how far?

Say hello to starvation, rape, possible murder, possibly being stranded, dehydration, injury, infection, death... the entire walking across the country with a guitar is a romantic image, nothing more.
I think those are the lyrics to a Tool song

Right, so Toronto to Vancouver, as the crow flies, is pretty much 4500km. You'll average at around 20km a day. Do the maths. But since you're dumb enough to think of doing this, I'll do it for you. 225 days. As far as I'm aware, there's a lot of wilderness between the two, even if you do walk by the roads. Do you have any idea about survival techniques other than what you've seen on tv? What happens if you don't manage to get picked up as a hitchhiker? You'll need to take supplies, a tent... I carried a 60kg rucksack and a 20kg bag when trekking mountains for 2 weeks. Do you know how much heavier that gets if your tent gets wet? What about money? Busking isn't a reliable income.

I seriously recommend against this stupidity.

what are you going to do when it rains?

and why not take a greyhound instead? they're not that expensive.
