burzum IS nazi. well, varg is.

Nailbomb- Commercial Suicide
Sepultura's Chaos AD
Metallica- ...And Justice For All
Death- Symbolic

.basically this list goes on and on because so many songs are about politics/religion... oiff you add violence and love (or lack thereof) you can basically say "every metal song ever."

So about now, 50% of metal music fits under these categories.
This thread is kind of a dumb idea, and I've had some true gems!

I know. But the napalm death version just has so much more ferocity that they made it their own. And also they had different people in mind when thinking what the song is about then DK's

How do you mean? The lyrics were the same, surely it was directed at...nazi punks?

But yeah the ND version is awesome, as are most of their covers.

The whole M-16 album by Sodom is about war. I guess that can sorta tie in with politics.
I want to go as far to the edge without going over. Out on the edge, you can see all kinds of different things.

probably Holy Wars and Peace Sells - Megadeth

Politically inclined lyrics are boring and far over done by horrible lyricist. Good political lyrics are thin in numbers.

Carbonized is actually pretty decent for old Swedish DM.
O what a disgrace if such a despised and base race, which worships demons, should conquer a people which has the faith of omnipotent God and is made glorious with the name of Christ!

Hell yeah it is... more vigorous than most. The first album is awesome death/grind, the second is more surf/prog, and the third is just weird.

A great thing to have in your collection...

Megadeth has done plenty of politically and religiously fueled songs. Songs like Holy Wars, Peace Sells, and all of United Abominations really are great examples of this. Nevermore is another band that really likes to go for the throat when it comes to politics and religion, and that is clearly revealed in This Godless Endeavor, which is a masterpiece, btw.

Yes but on the EP, the live version is dedicated to some fascist politician, while the DK's version is about punk bands that support white pride faggots. Same lyrics yes, but directed at a different person, or people.

Nevermore.

Sentient 6, This Godless Endeavour, Born. Basically every song.
"A war is coming, I've seen it in my dreams. Fires sweeping through the earth, bodies in the streets, cities turned to dust. Retaliation..."

Hmm, I can think of several:
Silly/Funny songs:
Holy Smoke - Iron Maiden
Be Quick or Be Dead - Iron Maiden
Shoot All the Clowns - Bruce Dickinson

Serious songs:
Born in '58 - Bruce Dickinson
Como Estais Amigos - Iron Maiden
Afraid to shoot Strangers - Iron Maiden
etc, etc, pretty much all of A Matter of Life and Death album by Iron Maiden
