I was reading a bit about woodstock, and there seems to have been a festival every 10 years after the original one (1979, 1989, 1999) and one on the 25th anniversary (1994). So, do you think that there is going to be a woodstock in 2009? Is it a good idea, since the last one was full of violence, riots and stuff like that? And if there was, who would play?

i'd imagine if there is one, then it'll draw some big bands...

They should just get Green Day to cause a mudfight again. That's the only reason any of it's been worth it.

If they don't get bands like Limp Bizkit and Metallica to play then it will be cool. They should get RHCP, Robin Trower, Allman Brothers Band, Wolfmother, Derrick Trucks, EC, and Pearl Jam and other people like them to play. Not angry metal. Thats not at all the spirit of Woodstock. They should also charge reasonable prices for everything and not turn it into a commercial **** fest.

It wouldn't be the same.

It'd be like getting a 50 year old, sun-burnt prostitute from East Europe and slapping "Marilyn Manroe" on her head.

They should just get Bono and Al Gore to stand up on stage and try to guilt trip us a little more for 3 whole days.

I don't see how trying to inform us that we could be killing the planet is a guilt trip.

I kinda have a split opinion on this, because I would want them to redo Woodstock, because it was the biggest music festival of all time. But at the same time I wouldn't want them to **** it up like the one in '99.

I mean Megadeth, seriously?

I love Megadeth, but at Woodstock?

If you were on acid you would be freaking out like crazy.

I don't see why not... Chances are the line-up'll be a waste of time, but if they're sticklers for the a decadely thing, then it'll happen

Nope, it wasn't free. People had to buy tickets for it.... but they never expected SO many people would come to Woodstock, and at the very last moment (the first artists already played) they let everyone in, just because they didn't want it to turn ugly.

(or something like that)

Ah, hell, just check out the Woodstock '69 docu somewhere on the net or on dvd...
