Hey I was wonderng if you guys could give me suggestions for a marshall amp(or something else that suits my style) for $350.
I play classic rock like led zeppelin, jimi hendrix, vanhalen, and guns n roses. I also play a little bit of metal, but just a tiny bit, like metallica and black sabbath, but remember i DONT WANT A METAL AMP.

all marshalls in your price range really $uck...

check out a Vox Valvetronix, a Roland Cube, a Blackheart Little Giant, maybe a good deal on a Peavey Classic 30 used.

EDIT: don't double-post threads, delete the other one.

Marshall's just a name, and they don't make anything good in your price range.
Actually called Mark!

or you could just punch yourself in the balls and still have your money. Seriously, they aren't good amps either. Maybe a Valveking.

bro delete one of ur threads. and get urself a blackheart little giant. refuse to believe anything other than a marshall is gonna sound like those bands? i used to think the same way when i first started out, "I need either a Fender or Marshall b/c they are used by some of the best and have great reputation".....the problem w/ big name amps is that they are rising in price and giving you the same thing for more of your hard earned money. what you want is a Blackheart little giant and an OD pedal like the bad monkey to stay in budget. you'll thank UG later.

or you can refuse to believe us and get one of those amps that you were looking at, but you'll kick urself in the nuts twice over afterwards if you do!!!

a valve king is apparently a jack of all trades amp, not excelling in any particular genre. the blackheart, however, will CREAM the valveking in just about all the tones he wants.

try out the valveking so you can determine for urself however, but don't forget to try out the blackheart WITH an OD pedal and see how you like that. stock the blackheart sounds great, but w/ new tubes it will sound PHENOMINAL.

easy, it's 5 watts. but this is 5 TUBE watts. the ear perceives it to be about 15 SS watts. when it starts to overdrive, however, it's going to be over 5 watts of course.

it's a great amp i have one, never regret buying it either

You will regret buying this over the Marshall and Fender Frontman. I've played both, this amp is **** and I actually wasted money and bought this same amp for 350 cause the guy at the shop and I are tight[as in we're gear nerdos].

^Fail.

For what you want, the Blackheart should be a good deal... don't let the five watts put you off, it's a fantastic amp. For the brootalz tonez... I'd look into getting a good Overdrive pedal, such as a Digitech Bad Monkey (for those on a budget), a Maxon Overdrive, or a Tubescreamer.

^for 'Brutal' tone don't rely on OD on the amp, get a dist. pedal that accurately emulates tube hi gain. although i think dist. pedals on tube amps are pointless, in this case it's actually a good idea for the occasional death metal sound. but an OD will get you pretty heavy and thrashy for 80s metallica and prolly megadeth too.

Or you could get a Blackheart, which has better tone and does exactly what you need, for the same price.

no offense Stratdud but you need to get a pen and paper and start creating a list on your own while researching: web sites like these:

here (UG) Searchy bar
google
GC.com
MF.com
youtube
harmonyC.com
others
etc

ie....before just jamming out a bunch of URLs

sorry...i'm in a bad mood

also - let the Edit button be your friend

OK. Valveking 112 or Blackheart if you can find one

also - sorry if i missed this as it is getting late but:
new or used?
home or gig?
guitar?

peace out
