For my bass and I'm not sure about when I should use them. Should I install them now or wait until my next gig or recording session? This is my first time buying Rotosound and I don't know what their initial brightness sounds like and what they sound like after being broken in a little. I'm in 4 different bands and I play punk, metal, alternative, prog rock.

yeah i would put them on now. i used those back when i was mainly a bass player. they last a very long time too, so you can put them on now, and they will still sound great for your next gig/recording session.
btw, bass strings are too damn expensive dont you think?

I found them on eBay. $22 + $5 shipping and if they're as great as people say they are then I think I got a good deal, considering they're 5 strings.
