I have a behringer GMX212. I want to get a pickup put into my acoustic guitar but cant afford to buy a "decent" new amp at the moment. Ive dead set got no idea about amps and how they work but will I be able to play the acoustic through my behringer amp with out any issues or am I kidding myself.

What makes it sound awful and whats that mean heaps distorted and lots of feedback.

Umm actually --- It will sound just fine.

In fact I have the same amp and I use a Dean Markley insert pickup.

I think it sounds perfectly fine. It would sound even better if I put in an actual piezo pick up.

Well, I hope you wouldn't be using it on your distorted channel

It's just that an electric amp robs the guitar of a lot of the tone that makes the guitar sound "acoustic". It'll still sound like an acoustic, but it won't be quite as natural- sounding.
