Sorry to rant, but gas around my part of the world finally went over 4 dollars. That might not be much relatively, but it's quite the shock around here. Time to dust off the moped. My car is getting parked for a while.

Hey. What's with all the haters? I wasn't complaining, just stating the facts, and what I'm gonna do about it.

Well 1 gallon = 3.7 litres.
1 litre here is about 1.50
The AUD buys 0.96ish US dollars
1.5 x .96 = 1.44
x 3.7 to make it in gallons = $5.328 USD/gallon.

Probably made a mistake in there somewhere...

We've been paying that for ages. Get used to it

Yes, and **** tree huggers who lobby to instate huge taxes on fuel because it's gonna cause a world wide Noah's Ark crisis.
And I mean that in the best possible way.

I second that.....but then again without then we wouldn't have gas for our vehicles.....but then again I wouldn't be broke.

This thread filled up FAST.

Seriously though, why not just work on the worlds capacity to efficiently meet oil demands? Build new refineries maybe?

I hate people who have no idea what's really going on and just run around saying "omg i hate the government and oil corporations" because it's the cool thing to do.

There is plenty of oil to outlast our search for alternative energy. It's not like it's going to run out in our lifetime.

i think its around 3.93 here in montana. now that everyone else says its higher in other countries, i dont feel as bad about it now. i hardly drive anyways. the thing that sucks about montana though is everything is so sparse (city-wise) so if you go somewhere, you'll be paying big bucks. I usually walk everywhere i can when its nice. weather has been **** lately though, so i've been driving more.

I am aware of that, but shouldn't we try to develop alternative energy sources for future generations?

Umm, whatever "we" you're referring to, is most definitely trying to find an alternate energy source.

I don't doubt that a source will be found in the next 50 years.
