I'm looking for some pickups for a Rage Against The Machine equal tone for my Ibanez S470. Any suggestions?

H&K 100watt Stack
Ibanez Practice Amp

Tom's tone comes from his LACK of trying to get a specific tone. RATM is within the range of your stock pups, but you'll need to add random wah, springs, loose trems, and screwdrivers.

nope. I want more of a "arm the homeless" sound. arm the homeless has 2 humbuckers but nobody knows what pickups are in it. most people say it an emg 81/85 combo. the 81 could work in the bridge but I'm not sure about the neck pickup. it's more of a single coil sound.

He uses EMGs in arm the homeless, and all his other RATM guitars have stock pickups. I get a pretty good rage tone with my strat copy, neck pickup through my Peavey Classic 30 with the gain on full

I'm now pretty sure I'm going to put a EMG 81 in the bridge but not sure about the neck. should I put in a 81 as well, a 85 or a HA?

I don't think you could go wrong, as long as the pickups are well built and geared towards rock. He never really has a real defined strat or lp tone.

scroll down to the amp section and you see a pic of his amp. only problem I had is how all the sections where called and what was in each section. but I just googled "Marshall 2205" found a nice pic where I could read what each section was called and did it from there.
And yeah Tom cranks the **** out of his amp.
