i just spent 2 hours writing an essay in word, and i looked up the meaning of a word on google, and when i opened the window with my essay in it, it was screwed up, it had the bar up the top with the close and minimise and everything, but the word screen was stuffed, so i clicked close and it asked if i wanted to save. not wanting to lose some very important work, i clicked 'yes'. when i reopened the file, it said that it needed a converter or something, which basically meant that the file was screwed and wasnt going to open.

i need to get that work back.

is there a place where word saves things periodically that wouldnt have been overwritten when i saved the file when i closed the window?

please please help. it is so important.

no. you clicked saved so it assumes everything is good and deletes the temp backup.
