I just uninstalled ZoneAlarm because it screws around with uTorrent. It's been known for a while that ZoneAlarm and uTorrent cause problems when installed on the same computer, regardless of whether or not uTorrent is blocked.

So, I want a new firewall that will protect me better than Windows Firewall.

-It needs to be free
-It needs to be compatible with uTorrent
-It needs to not fuck with other stuff on my computer
-The easier it is to use, the better.

Go!

COMODO firewall is awesome!

It needs to learn a little bit first, so you have to go through alot of "let this program through" and what not. However, its all automatic and is a great program. Its also free!

Comodo Firewall. However the problem with it is that it likes to "talk". A lot.

Use Zonealarm (find a serial for the pro version?).

Get rid of uTorrent.
Use Azureus - BUT disable Vuze.

Problem solved.

Kerio Personal Firewall

It great

Just disable it while installing programs (trusted)

And its absolutely great
Runs in full mode for a month, then goes to "free" mode, which just has a couple of features disabled, but still has everything you need.

Couple it with AVG anti virus, and its great.

I have Panda Anti-virus + Firewall. It's good and all, but the best part is that you get a cute little panda in your taskbar.
I get very tense around apples...Well, I get very tense generally. I think I've fallen into the trap of blaming fruit.

NOD32 works as an antivirus, and firewall. Also an adware/spyware blocker.

Since your already using utorrent (don't get Azurus), just find the pro version somewhere.

I have AVG, so I might go with this.

Basically, everytime you do something that isn't a windows application it asks you whether you should let it do it blah blah. It got annoying when I installed things until I figured out that you can put the firewall in installation mode and it won't bother you at all. Honestly I havent tinkered with the program a lot.

Actually, the new version of Comodo doesnt "talk" at all. It asks you a few questions at first, and then it shuts up.

+1. set it to training mode, shuts it up even if it is a little less safe.
