I've been thinking of selling my SG, and buying another more oriented guitar, because I just can't quite get it to sound as good as my LP for metal. So my question is, would it be worth it to sell it and get money for one of the following guitars?
Guitar 1:

Guitar 2:

My next question is out of these two, if I decide to sell my SG, which would be better for the genres I play? (I play metal, blues/ funk, and psychodelic stuff.) Cleans won't be as important to me, as they were, because this guitar will be used mostly for distorted parts, unless I really like the clean sound I get out of it.

The bonus was whether I should sell my SG or not.

I feel a little bit upset I was hoping for something more. Perhaps you could find us an extra bonus?

As for sellin the SG. If you're not using it, then definitely. Else it's just a waste of space and money.

I totally agree with selling guitars that you're not using, especially if they're not rare or likewise.

It's like having a pile of money gathering dust. I personally start to feel guilty if I things (guitars or otherwise) laying around that I'm not using or don't need.

Right now I have just been using the SG as a second guitar in Drop C while my LP is in Drop D, because I couldn't find another use for it, so it saves time and the life of my strings on my LP by doing that, so if I don't sell it I will use it for the songs that my band has in Drop C.

Sorry to disappoint you, but no, thanks for the help.

Why sell your SG? Tonally it's more than capable of playing metal and all it needs is a pickup change.

Alright, I have decided to not sell my SG, but I will buy the Avenger, and replace the bridge pick-up in my SG to either a JB, a Dimarzio DP-100, DP221, or a DP207.

Thank you to everyone who helped me out here.

Haha, although I can't see the 'help' that led you to this decision.

Good luck!
