Now I know that spider 3's arn't the best amps in the world, but I kinda wanted to mod it as a side project just to see what I could do with my Spider III 15W

Does anyone know of some mods that could make it sound any better?
I want to change the speaker, but it only rated 4 ohms.
Could I wire 2, 8 ohm speakers in a series and have it still be compatible with the amp, or do I have to use 4 ohm ones?

Different speakers is the only mod you could possibly do.

Buy both pickups. Rub icyhot on both of them. Sandwich your penis between them and walk to the nearest homeless shelter with your brand new icyhot penis sandwich.

everything in a spider is mostly digital so it would be very hard to mod anything but the speaker

yea, its a digital modeling amp, you cant do any electrical mods, you could paint it? change the speaker, and yes it will have to be 4 ohms if thats what the ohm rating is.
Spiders make lovely coffee tables if you want to mod it in a different sense

^for the money of building a new cab, including speakers, u could probably buy a decent tube amp. which is what u should do.

You could mod it to be a badass alarm clock! An alarm clock that you could also use as an amp! Back in the day I jerry rigged my alarm clock to come out of my stereo.

When you pimp out something you usually want to pimp out something nice. Say a 68 mustang, charger, camaro something like that not an AMC pacer. Pimping out a spider is just pointless and a waste of money. Way better to use the pimp money to buy a better amp which just about anything would be a step up from a spider.

the spider 3 isnt my main amp, I just wanted to see if it could be modded in anyway
I have a B52 AT 100 half stack as my main

i have to take exception to that tackleberry. a pimped pacer is still better than a spider III. :p
Thank you please.

So you figured out a spider is more computer than amp. Its amazing how much empty space is inside a spider amp.

And in spite of that empty space they're just as heavy as a regular amp.

Not sure about being heavy as a regular amp. A 75 watt combo at the local store weighs the same as my little 15 watt peavey. Certainly nothing close to the weight of my 30 watt tube amp with 1 speaker. And the spider 75 has 2 speakers.

Particle board is heavier than quality plywood, and many cheap speakers have oversized magnets in an attempt to make up for the poor quality of the speaker and magnet material.
