i've got a distorion pedal. i'm wondering if there's some kind of footswitch I could buy so when i switch to my clean channel.... the distortion pedal doesn't affect it? or am i just gonna have to switch the distortion off?

you should have your distortion pedal running on top of your clean channel.
put you amp on the clean channel then guitar>d.pedal>amp.
turn on the pedal for distortion.
press it again for clean.
