These are my choices. Im looking for a bass that can give me a good all round tone. However, the closer to sounding like Justin Chancellor I am, the better.
#2
Well, there is no way to sound like him without a Wal bass and the rest of his rig, and several items (the bass and the Digitech Bass Whammy) are out of production.

Have you considered any Fenders or Squires? Thay are pretty good all round basses.

However, I speak for many people when I say that you should not go for the Epiphone.

The jazz can get more than one tone though.

The P-bass might surprise you, it's not as versatile as the jazz but it still holds its own. TS, out of those basses, I'd choose the SRX.

Be sure to rape the blue note (augmented 4th). Rape it hard and exploit it like the skank it is.

I voted ATK just because I like it the best. For Tool you want bolt-on, active EQ and neck humbucker.
#8
i just love that atk its an amazing bass i love it evreytime i go to my local music shop i play it and hoping it doesnt sell. get that one!!!!!!!
#9
I am wandering why you have a Thunderbird on your list if you want a good all round tone. If you count no tone as a good all round tone, it's perfect. I would go for the ATK, these are meant to be awesome basses from reviews, sadly I haven't played one myself though

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

if you want a fugly bass, you got it.

Dano Longhorn. bad taste in my mouth. there is a reason those tended to stay in the studio.

EDB is gorgeous in comparison.
