Hey i was thinking about getting one of these pups,
but for the money i could get alot of other stuff distortion wise.
Right now i have a DS-2 and it sounds like crap.
anyone know of any good analog distortion?

i thought pup means pickup.
why is a pedal a pup then?

Puppies. I've never played a modded ds-1, jekyll and hyde perhaps? I've never played one but they got hyped up shit loads on here a while back. Doesn't necessarily make it good though.

Yeah i'm amazing like that,
i dont use a single setting, ive tweaked it many times.
It just sounds bad.
Perhaps a TS808 would be good with my amp.

Satch, Vai, Petrucci, Dan Spitz, and a bunch others use Keeley DS-1s, and they sound REALLY good, especially compared to the stock model. If anything, the Keeley DS-1s seem more like a Tubescreamer, but raunchier as far as gain goes (but smooth response, unlike a lot of distortion pedals). I'm thinking of doing the same with mine.
