I'm leaning towards getting one of these... I tried it out in the store and it played beautifully, but the pickups seemed a bit on the weak side. I'd like to replace them, but I know they're larger than a standard humbucker and won't fit in the pickguard.

Are there any large-sized replacement pickups? Is it possible to get a replacement pickguard cut for regular-sized humbuckers?

thats the only one ive seen like that. he says he dropped some on a 72 tele, so i think they fit

EDIT: f*ck. i failed. he used a d-routeer something, and said at the top they are standard humb. size, so these need routing

He wanted normal humbuckers- tele style, not the other way around

Rio grande make a fair few replacements set for the 72

Alternatively, you could buy a new pickguard...

Does anybody know where I might procure a replacement 'guard cut for two regular 'buckers? Would a Warmoth pickguard fit properly?
