Huge fan, I love them. Blank Generation is an amazing album.
I'm the same as I was when I was six years old
And oh my god I feel so damn old
I don't really feel anything

I ****ing love them!
I listened to Blank Generation 2 and a half times last night. :p
Also, some one at the PMS show last night asked us if we listened to them, and said we reminded him of them. How rad is that? *-)

That's awesome. Who all played at the show Tom?

Richard Hell is great. Many people here, including myself, would agree that Bob Quine is one of the best guitarists to come out of punk. I love that guy's playing.

I havn't listened to them much, do they sing Love comes in spurts??
two and a half men.

I haven't listened to them in a good long time.

I love the shit outta them.

It's just that they don't have a large repertoire and when I first got into 'em I listened to 'em so much...

Destiny Street's unavailability doesn't help much either.

I'm not big on the voidoids. Musically, it's interesting, but the songwriting consistency isn't there.

I've recently been jamming "Love comes in Spurts" with session drummer Alan Fister as the heartbreakers did it, but with the Blank Generation intro.

Love me two times baby
Love me twice today
Love me two times girl
Cause I got AIDS
Love me two times baby, once for tomorrow, once cause I got AIDS

Joe - Wow, Pretty good Jim Morrison impersonation there.
Rod - Yeah, I hope those guys have a good sense of humor and don't take us to court.
Joe - Uh, what's the court?
Rod - Never mind that,
Joe - Oh, you mean like the People's Court?

Indeed it was awesome. It was due to my yelping while playing =P

I do love me The Vodoids. My favorite track has to be New Pleasure. I don't care what they say, Hell is a great songwriter.

that has got to be one of the funniest dead milkmen songs, even if it does get old after a few listens

anyway, back to the topic: i have blank generation, are there any other albums by them that are any good?

I'm pretty sure that's their only full album. Richard Hell has a cd that I believe is called Spurts: The Richard Hell Story, or something else like that, and it has a few other songs by the Voidoids as well as some other things Richard's done. If nothing else, find the song Time. It's too good.

I don't want to give myself over to a world of Regina Spektor, Van Gogh posters, and loud conversations about how wasted they got.

The Voidoids are my favorite punk band, ever. Richard Hell by himself is my favorite author. He's written some excellent books.

EDIT: You all should join the Richard Hell group if you haven't already.

The Voidoid was the title of Richard Hell's first novella in the early 70s. I've read it; it was excellent. It's a play off of the word void, but I don't know exactly what it's significance is beyond that. I may go reread The Voidoid and look for that.

normally I'd not resort to the immaturity of making fun of your taste in music, but honestly, if you don't like the Voidoids, you have NO taste in music.

^The man makes a point. I could understand not liking them, but calling them horrible is pretty ridiculous. What exactly makes them so "horrible?"

I'm not judging you for not liking them, it honestly surprises me that you dislike them. I've never heard of someone disliking them.
