This song was inspired by "Emma" by Alkaline Trio.

EDIT: Finally got the chorus down. Critiques are more than welcomed.

Dear Sophie

Sophie was my darling
Oh Sophie was my life
I’d wake up in the darkness
And she’d be there by my side

I’ve always dreamed this story
Would end to a bitter tune
But never had I dreamnt that
I’d be the one who loses you

Oh Sophie Sophie hold me
If you ask me to jump, then I’d ask which cliff
And I’ll lay there bleeding
Broken and choking
My spilling guts tick down
To the time I’ll see you again

I’m sorry for this nightmare
But I’m pissed as hell at you
You promised me to never die
But your words were never true

So laugh it up in heaven
As I stay here in my hell
Your laughter keeps me company
While I lie here where you fell

Oh Sophie Sophie hold me
If you ask me to jump, then I’d ask which cliff
And I’ll lay there bleeding
Broken and choking
My spilling guts tick down
To the time I’ll see you again

Oh Sophie Sophie hold me
And if the moon comes up and I see your face
Then I’ll remember a smile
That you gave me once
When we walked together
In this lonely dark hell of mine

Complex imagery and metaphorical devices can be great and all, but sometimes things that are simply put can be the most effective. I think that this piece is a good example of this. It's sad and touching and you don't have to wrack your brains to get your head around it.

I liked this. Keep it up.
