Well, if you thought it was just the Bass Big Muff, think again.

They've only gone and made a new range of bass pedals.

I've looked these up before and the website is useless, no demos and the names are just silly, they have words like "Balls" and "Muff" in them, grow up EHX lol.

I was only joking about the grow up bit, hence I said lol at the end, but the website was a bit useless IMO.
#7
No idea. I'm just on their mailing list as I have a Q-tron (which is fully bass compatable as it is).

The BassBalls and Bass Microsynth aren't exactly new...

The Blogger looks interesting, I may have to get one

hmmm.. not too interested in the bassballs, the micro synth is just an XO micro synthesizer, and as long as the metaphors isnt too multi-effectsy it should be cool, dont know what to make of the blogger and the leather but the sound good, and as for the big muff, ive owned just about every muff so far cept the russian (pending) so the bass will be more than worth a try

They've just redone their website alongside releasing all these new pedals, they've had a complete makeover. Also, the names just give the pedals a quirky edge, if words like "muff" and "balls" make you feel uncomfortable or giggly then maybe you belong in primary school.

I don't find then uncomfortable its just names like "Big Muff" seem slightly inappropriate but i'm obviously just gonna get disagreed with so i'm not gonna bother arguing back anymore. Thats my opinion and you can all think whatever the hell you want about it.
#12
I think it cool to have words like "muff" in them, cause when people ask about your rig, you can reply, "i have a big muff"
If you happen to be a girl saying it though, you may feel a bit awkward lol
#13
If you giggle or find it wierd, then you need to grow up *stares at Max*. Nobody with any mind will care. They just use it because it makes the pedals memorable.

If you have a huge range like Boss, then their systematic naming is useful. However, sometimes a wacky name helps them stand out.

I think the new range is a bit crappy really. Two basic distortions without explaining what the difference is between them, a more complex distortion pedal with three band (no need for that since I use active basses), the Micro Synth and Bass Balls which are not my sort of thing and the Steel Leather which sounds promising (saying "Bass Expander" on the box) but is apparently just a pre-shaped EQ.

Nope never had that issue. But I managed to make two male sales guys blush and stammer for about 30 seconds once in a music store when I asked about trying out a big Muff.

EHX has done some interesting things lately with their bass pedals. I've never been a huge fan of their stuff, but maybe its time to go back and look at them again.

I don't think the site is even close to finished. The Pictures still aren't matched up yet.
#17
Whatever condition their website is in, I'd still like some clues as to how the bass muff and the bass blogger differ.
#18
Old news, but about damn time EHX made a conscious effort to pay attention to bass players.

And smb, the Big Muff is a fuzz petal (a bit weak but it still has that square wave sound) while the blogger is a slight distortion/booster. They shant sound alike at all.

Just want to mention- muff has two definitions. It literally means 'a bungled or clumsy action or performance.' which is in reference to the loose fuzzy sound.

Are you trying to get sigged or something?

Over the top doesn't work. Sorry

But back on topic, I would like to give all of those a try, especially the Bass Big Muff. I would like a nice fuzz.

I never played one, but more people have hated it than liked it.

I have one, I don't hate it. I wouldn't say it's amazing but it was like $60. the one thing that does suck is that it doesn't really work with an active eq, let alone active pickups.
