When I record using the Line Out from my amp, it completely slaughters my tone! its sounds lifeless. Should I use a Microphone instead or would it sound the same? (my amp is a Vox DA5 by the way)

Try and get a decent mic recording, it will probably sound much better.

depending on what kind of studio gear you have, a miked amp will usually sound more organic than a line out recording
