i need some names of classical pieces involving flutes as the main instrument, like concertos or sonatas or something. Preferably something with a more mellow and slow feel to it

Didn't he play tango?
Piazzolla? No idea. I've just recently gotten into him, and I only have about 5 pieces of his music in my library, 4 of which are a duet between guitar and flute.

I never heard him with flutes though...

I still recommend troubadour music (maybe the "Sumer" piece? I can't remember if it had flutes), and Renassaince which holds little difference at times...
