what would be some easy instrumentals to learn like vai's "eugene's trick bag"?
felt like i should try something new.

If you think Eugene's Trick Bag is easy there's something wrong with you.

You could try Hand On Heart by Steve Vai off the Fire Garden Album. Cool stuff.

You should probably mug John Frusciante or Ritchie Blackmore. They're small guys, we could take 'em.

Just look out for that other guy in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Will Farrel. He's a tall mofo, got a long reach.

Metallica's Orion isn't too hard. You should also check out some Joe Satriani, like Starry Night.

I've always had trouble with Orion, makes me mad too cause it's such a cool instrumental

Bladecatcher and Pendulous Skin by Mastodon are both cool instrumentals, and both are rather easy. Especially if you can do Vai. I would go and try Bladecatcher first.

Lenny is a bit of a change of pace for you, so it might be good.

Try Giant Steps if you want something a bit more shreddy.

Always with you, Always with me- Joe Satriani
Bad Horsie- Steve Vai

And if you thought Eugene's Trick bag was easy, then you should also be able to play:
YYZ-Rush

'97 Gibson Explorer w/ Duncan SH-4 and SH-2
Fender Jazz Bass 'Crafted in Japan'
Yamaha Acoustic Guitar
Vox AD30VT w/ VFS2
Roland Cube 30 Bass
Modded "St. Louis" Wah
Dunlop .88 Tortex picks

As I said, Orion by Metallica. Also, Duke Nukem by Megadeth is pretty easy.

I second YYZ, it's really not that hard.

You can't be successful in Jazz music until you're at least 40. You don't have anything to say.
