Personally I love bluegrass, as I do most other genres. Recently I was listening to a collection of works by the artist Pickin' On, which is a group who does a variety of instrumental covers of popular artists (ranging from Pink Floyd to Jack Johnson). This reminded me of the Yonder Mountain String Band Version of Crazy Train, and while searching for it I came across a similar cover by Iron Horse. They also did version of Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin (Pickin' On also does Led Zeppelin covers inclusive of Stairway).

I was just wondering what the Pit thought of bluegrass covers.

Stairway To Heaven - Iron Horse

Crazy Train - Iron Horse

Gin & Juice - The Gourds

Just some samples, hope you guys enjoy!

I think it's pretty damn good! I like me some bluegrass every once in a while.

My mom loves Ozzy and is always listening to bluegrass and older country. I should buy the Ozzy tribute CD for her, it's perfect xD

Bluegrass is great. But I prefer the more progressive type, less of the traditional. My dad is in a bluegrass band and they do some great covers such as Lay Down Sally and Every Breath You Take.

Iron Horse's "Fade To Bluegrass" (Metallica covers) is brilliant. I'd love to hear more from them.

I don't like things like that where people use other instruments then what the song was written for. I don't see the point. It just makes it sounds crappy and lacking. People seem to think its cool and fresh though, so whatever.

I tried to listen to it, but I can't take it seriously.
Any bluegrass reminds me of all the rednecks I used to live with in Iowa.

Never developed a taste for it.
