I'm building a fuzz face a là the tonepad.com layout. I need it done by Monday.

What I need to know is:
since both leads of the battery are connected to the board, that would make power continually run through, it right? So if I connected one of the battery leads to the board (should I do positive or negative ground?) and do it like a normal circuit thats completed by putting a cable in the jack, it would still work, right?

Second of all, how would I wire an LED to represent "on" WITHOUT using a millenium bypass board?

EDIT: A better layout would be soooo nice.

EDIT 2: I think I'm just look at this wrong... It just shows to connect both battery leads so you know which lead to connect w/ which ground.. so really, only one lead is connected at a time.
