This band is fantastic. I am listening to Watching from a Distance right now and this man has an excellent and memorable voice. Perhaps, at my funeral this song could play. Although, there are so many songs that I would have to force everyone to play in addition. But still.

It's just such emotionally gripping material. A lot of simplicity, and yet so much substance on Watching from a Distance, like almost all of the really good doom metal that I've heard.

Freakin hell! How did I overlook this band for so many months?!

Wann können wir schreien anstatt zu flüstern?
Wann ist der neue Anfang das Ende dieses traurigen Madrigals?

I'd rather that; the vocals on TSTD kind of put me off, tbh.

the vocals definately make this band.
the music is great, powerful doom but nothing really extraordinary. its the vocals that really deliver the punch.

I want to try that while playing the opening riff to "Tempting Time".

That ought to be great

As described by a certain Chris Barnes:
"Their sound is characterised by a melodic, down-tempo song-writing style, sparse arrangements and introspective lyrical themes."

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.

Or it all could be a hoax, as Richard Walker said after the broke-up of Warning that Patrick will move on to his other passion: speed metal

Meh, boring as **** band. Watching from A Distance isn't emotion, it's just whining over boring and unimaginative riffs. Emo Doom for losers who like Terry's Chocolate Orange a bit too much.
#101
Fairly harsh, ha ha... but definitely a love or hate band. Gotta say I love them myself. And I am partial to the odd Dawn French feeding me chocolate oranges fantasy.

You're the guy with the second review over on M-A, ain't ya? You've more or less used the same words here as well..
Wann kann ich dich von diesem Ort wegbringen?
Wann ist der Tod unser einziger Zuschauer?
Wann können wir schreien anstatt zu flüstern?
Wann ist der neue Anfang das Ende dieses traurigen Madrigals?

It just so happens that I remember this one as I read it yesterday.. Even the damn title of the review read "Whining". I didn't even bother going through the review in detail after that. And tell me a better place to get an idea of different albums? UG doesn't even have a review of "At the Heart of Winter"!

Know what I like to do? I like building bridges. Big ones, made out of words that are completely meaningless.

I'm just pulling all your legs, I fewking love Warning. Watching is one of my favourite Doom albums, I just love taking the piss out of them as it's so easy Sing anything while holding your nose, sounds like Warning meets Manilla Road.

You have to admit it though, Pat does sound a wee bit like Sahkira at times.

I still can't get all the way though Watching From A Distance, i always get too sad by the last track and have to turn it off. Kind of embarrassing but the album does it's job.

You seem like someone who can really get engrossed in his music Riffmast, that's a good thing.

Warning are one of those bands that I only listen to once in a blue moon, but when I do, its a cathartic release of monumental levels.

Yes music has always had allot of power over me ever since i was little kid listening to heavy ass classical music and watching operas about slaying dragons/vikings/ect(thanks Dad). It's positive thing in my life, except one time i was listening to Goat Molestor..........and now I'm not allowed back at the zoo

I also don't listen to Warning much. It's more of an introspective rainy day kinda band for me.

Tbh, it is kind of whiny

Don't you just hate it when vocalists try to mirror their feelings by enhancing their vocal style in such a way that it evokes similar feelings in their listeners? I, for one, can't stand it because it's unorthodox and creates something which isn't done by everyone else.

BAWWWWWWW. It is whiny, doesn't really make it bad, but it is whining.

Because I have better things to do at 1am, like float in random metal forums and do drugs.

On a side not, Pat Walker is related to Richard Walker of Solstice! A family of DOOOMMMM!
