CAn you get thinner than 008??? I would like to have those uber high notes like Roth but 008 for a high A would be way too heavy for vibrato arm and bending etc

8 guage? That's the lightest string you can get I believe...

If you wanted it higher, maybe try finger strenth, if that helps...

an 8 on the high E is really thin, so I could never imagine it on the A. You should be able to do all the bends you want with 9's....

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can get a 7 gauge

I remember K.K Downing from priest using a 7 gauge for his high string!

Just thinking, after you play, say 7s, you would find it hard to play on 9s, 10s or 11s as they are...

Thicker..

I know there is a guy who does provide hand made 7 gauge strings, but they are quite expensive, some of the guys over at sevenstring.org may know his contact details. But you could in theory get away with using an 8 gauge string at G.

about halfway down the page a .007 high D# bass string, it'll work as a high A guitar string my mate used one to tune his 7 string E,A,D,G,B,E,A

the only problem with that string is the ball at the bridge end of the string is too big for guitar so it won't fit into string thru ferulles or trem blocks, it'll just sit against them. this has no adverse effects on the guitar
