is that normal or the oil actually caused it to have that lines is like small cracks..

its just grains in the wood that are accentuated by the oil. nothing to worry about.

i use Castrol GTX. If you buy the book 'Chet Atkins - me ad my guitars' you will notice he has some castrol in his shop on the bench'

Chet Atkins - being the most influential guitar player of all time knew a lot about tone and i improved my playing about 300% also the one was heavier and there was more sustain.

I would start with 10 W40 and if you like it or play death metal go with 20/50.

Castrol is good for vintage players, if you have a newer ax use mobil 1 or something synthetic

a lot of oils rot and smell bad. others are too thick and won't wipe off.

more damage is done by over oiling a board, then is done by leaving it dry.

dunlop oil, and similar synthetic oils are made for fretboard conditioning and care, and cost about $4 for a bottle that will last YEARS.

i suggest you use an oil made for guitar care.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

you can buy a whole quart of castrol for two bucks at walmart.

that being said, i was kidding and please don't put motor oil on your guitar.

Homer Fornsby is a very good company that makes wood cleaning products.

I use their furniture cleaner on rosewood (it's a green liquid)

and follow up with their lemon oil. It is very affordable and lasts a long time.

Some oils can damage the inlays. I've seen a guitar once that was had the fretboard cleaned with the wrong oil and it damaged the abalone.
