Hey there!

I record guitar all the time.

Check it out if you want.

Anyway,

I use 2 devices to record.

First, I've got my Shure SM57 instrument microphone.
Second, an Alesis IO/2 sound interface. (soundcard.)

So my setup's ended up like this.
Amp - Mic in front of it - Microphones cable --> Alesis Soundcard -->> To my pc.

Then you need some software. I got Cubase LE4, it came with my Alesis soundcard!

PLEASE CHECK MY MUSIC OUT!

Yea, I'm looking into a line6 tone port, the two-input one, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience/ heard good or bad things about that interface, I don't wanna make a new thread for it if it's not needed.

EDIT: also, is there a way go guitar-> pedalboard-> line6 interface -> my amp?

the point of doing this would be to hear the sound out of my amp instead of (Im assuming you can do this) hearing the sound in realtime out of my computer speakers.

Yea, hearing yourself play is a totally different deal from playing, or even listening to other people.
