I got my amp a couple years ago and I didnt use it much but its had these problems for a while now....

1) The amp has many built in effects, one which is called "solo" and this doesnt work anymore. Actually, it works but it is so quiet you cant even hear it (no, the volume is not turned down).

2) when I first turn the amp on, it takes a little bit to "warm-up". I have to play the guitar for about 10 seconds before it slowly fades in. Is this normal? I didnt notice it when I first got it.

Is there anything I can do to fix these things easily or can anyone tell me what is going on?

Thanks.

Sounds like your amp is messed up, probably time for a new one. Is it a tube amp? It shouldn't fade in like that if it's a solid state.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

have you tried your guitar on other amps?
But like kevin_salle said its time for a new one

crate isn't exactly known for their quality

^Err, that's a mis-statement there. Their Made in St. Louis stuff is very good and the V-series is great, though made overseas. I've never heard of them breaking down. Now the solid states, well, they're junk.

yeah, All I know is how cruddy their solid state amps are. I don't know enough about their tube amps to say anything. But then again I am slightly biased.

Well when I got this I was first starting out and I was trying to decide between a Marshall, Fender, or this one... all small little practice amps. But I chose the Crate because my dad told me its good and the fact that it had a few built in effects was cool.

So.... I should probably email Crate and see if I can get them to fix it or replace. But if they could give me my money back thatd probably be even better, huh?

How old is it? If you can't get it fixed for free then its not worth it.

hahahaha biased.........

TS, i think your crate POS is dead. i would suggest getting a new amp, but some advice, no marshall MG's or line 6

Ive had it for two (maybe three?) years now.

And no, its not ; it just takes a few seconds to load and the solo effect doesnt work. The basics still work. But still I would like the solo effect to be fixed. Im pretty sure its not a tube amp.... those are more expensive and less common, right? I just got a regular old common practice amp.

Lol, thank God my amp doesn't take time for the software to load. Only for the toobs to heat up.

The hotbar should be floating parallel to the principle axis at this point. Next, take a hammer, and beat yourself in the face while crying JIHAD. problem fixed.

The warranty is long over if youve had it for 3 years. So no they wont give your money back or fix it for free. Deal with it as is or get rid of it. It would cost more than a new amp to get it fixed. Cheaper amps with tons of features dont last long.

Yeah, the Vettas are just a tad out of range... just a tad .... If I were to get a new one itd have to be between 100-200 bucks.... anything good I can get for that?
