What kind of Strat copy do you have? Measure the string spacing of your bridge so you can upgrade it with a beefier tremolo block. You can also try out some of the inexpensive PUs at GF, which sells tremolos, too.

save and build a warmoth strat. finish it your self. thats what I'm doing for my new guitar

Read his reason for modding. Warmoth is one of the priciest suppliers.

its a new york pro strat. i wonder if i should replace the neck (its bolted on) with a thinner one too.

replacing the neck will be rather pricey. if you're going to replace a neck, replace the whole guitar instead. you know about neck ratios and radius and all that right? measure from the bridge to the 12th fret. that distance has to be the exact from the 12th to nut.

save, or do some cheap mods to the guitar for fun, like painting.
