It's opinion. I would love to have a les paul. I would also love to have a 7 string Ibanez and one of vigier surfretters along with a shawn lane sig. A Suhr guthrie govan sig as well. They all have different sounds.

Just about anything else with 6 to 8 strings.

It's all opinion though. I personally can't stand the Les Paul sound, especially through a Marshall. Most overdone thing in rock ever.

In my opinion, you can't get MUCH better than a LP.
But I'd say some of the more expensive Paul Reed Smiths, and the double-neck SG. (Can't remember exact name of it.)

Umm, designwise, I'd say you can't get much better than a Les Paul. But there are probably guitars out there that sound better than an LP

I agree with Kynyster, a PRS Custom 24 would probably be more versatile, and prettier than an LP Supreme, which is already damn gorgeous

I don't like the LP shape. It just doesn't appeal to me.

I love the shape of the Ibanez S-series though. It's just so...

One of the worst designed double-necks ever.
